Cortisomol® SP is a zinc oxide-eugenol based root canal sealing cement designed for permanent obturation in combination with gutta-percha cones and pure eugenol. The formulation contains prednisolone acetate, a corticosteroid that reduces postoperative pain in the days immediately following endodontic obturation, while maintaining the sealing performance and biocompatibility expected of a definitive root canal cement. Cortisomol SP complies with ISO 6879 for root canal sealing materials, providing reliable adhesion to dentin and gutta-percha, radiopacity for radiographic verification, and a thin film thickness suitable for accurate apical sealing. Supplied as a powder + liquid system for chairside mixing to the consistency required for the lateral- or vertical-condensation technique in use.
